Scottish made Auld Lang Syne 5 Yard machine stitched casual worsted wool Kilt.
The tartan is named after the famous song Auld Lang Syne by Rabbie Burns, which is traditionally sung at New Year.
"For auld lang syne, my jo,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet
For auld lang syne.
And surely you'll be your pint stoup,
And surely I'll be mine,
And we'll tak a cup o' kindness yet
For auld lang syne!"
This kilt is a fantastic, lightweight and affordable alternative to the traditional 8 yard worsted wool kilt and is ideal for warmer climates.
As with all our kilts, the 5 Yard machine stitched Casual worsted wool Kilts are tailored here in Scotland to the highest standard by our own expert kiltmakers. The kilts are fully canvas lined and has 3 buckles to ensure an excellent fit.
The pleats are wider than the pleats in a 8 yard dress kilt and there are typically about a third fewer pleats in a casual kilt.
In the kilt we illustrate here there are 17 pleats from 1¼ to 1½ inches wide (3 to 4cm). The pleats on our dress kilts are, typically, ¾ inch to just under 1 inch wide.
Celebrate New Year in style with an Auld Lang Syne kilt!
